Why psychotherapy + counselling?

I believe in the beauty of life, but I also understand the often painful experiences that may be walking with us ––

Abuse Anger

Anxiety

Burnout Conflict

Depression Eating disorders

Complex family and relationship dynamics

Fears Grief Guilt Illness

Identity struggles Life transitions

Loneliness Loss of self

OCD Self-harm

Self-worth issues Shame Stress

Suicidal thoughts Trauma

This is safe, supportive, and qualified space for those navigating these experiences and for those seeking a greater self-understanding. It is a place to unburden the weight you may be carrying, and to have someone carefully disentangle this with you –– it is psychotherapeutic expertise set by your pace and your wants.

Here, you will find a space that fully accepts whatever you bring—without judgment or pressure, whether you are clear about your concerns or feeling unsure as to why you’re struggling. No matter what you may be feeling I am here to hear you, to hold your experience with value and respect whilst we explore this together, and work toward a supportive and healing outcome that feels right for you.

For those aged 18+, this is an inclusive, welcoming space where everyone can feel safe.
If you are looking for support for children or young people, please do get in contact and I will be able to advise.

Understanding

I practice from a person-centred approach, a profoundly empathetic model of talk therapy that can move as gently or thoroughly as you feel comfortable with, holistically combining with trauma-informed and neuro-affirming practices.

It’s not about giving you a set of instructions or leaning on diagnostics, but about creating a space where you feel safe and supported to find the answers that are right for you. As your therapist, I walk alongside you, offering guidance and care, while helping you explore what truthfully works for your own individual experience.

In addition to my private practice, I work with Clear, a BACP-accredited charity supporting those impacted by sexual and emotional trauma. I also volunteer with Dreadnought, assisting in the Aspire’s groups for young people with Autism Spectrum Condition, helping them access mainstream social activities.

With these experiences in particular, I deeply recognise the need for alternatives to purely verbal/talk therapy and am passionate about offering varying ways to connect within the therapeutic hour if the client feels drawn to it – examples include art, music, lyrics, movement, metaphor, objects, or pre-therapy. I see these as optional resources that allow an expression and exploration of ourselves that go beyond our verbal ability.

Practicalities

Location
Within the private Falmouth studio, overlooking the river, or online/telephone UK-wide.

Availability
Currently, there is space for new clients on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at varying times between 8am and 2pm.

Cost
£40 an hour’s session.
Concessional rates of £30 are available to counselling students and those who need financial assistance – please do make contact to enquire about the current availability of these.

Time frames
The number of sessions depends on your needs, from resolving a specific issue to working through highly complex challenges; this is always your decision and is something we can openly discuss together. I do not require a minimum number of sessions or block booking – clients can book and pay as per their needs.

Safe working
Before commencing our work together, we will explore your needs and expectations for therapy (in the form of a gentle assessment/questionnaire) and then, if we both feel this is the right step for you, we will read and sign a client-counsellor contract.
