“I went in [to the consultancy session] quite nervous as I wasn’t sure what I wanted to talk about, but within a few minutes Elaine said to me “yes but you’re an artist” and it’s honestly changed the way I look at myself as a creative. We spoke for an hour about the work that I’d done over the years – children’s books, ceramics, illustration and how I saw them as failures which made me nervous about pursuing painting, but Elaine explained how they were actually creative outlets that I’d explored as an artist, not failures and I shouldn’t have to limit myself to one thing. I went home and wrote “YOU ARE AN ARTIST” above my desk and I say it to myself daily.”

A space for reverence, Ara’s truly sustainable and ethical pieces are designed to be worn as (transformative) adornment for the everyday. Her practice is slow, considered, and deeply researched, ensuring the jewellery’s fundamental beauty is never compromised at any stage of sourcing or creation.

“My session with Elaine was invaluable. The attention to detail, in-depth knowledge and considered approach Elaine naturally adopts meant that she truly understood me and my brand. The beautiful follow up actions that accompanied my session set me up perfectly to put into place everything we explored during our session. Elaine has a way of creating a safe and constructive place within which to work, she is a professional who’s opinion I really value and I often recommend her services to fellow small creative business owners.”

Jess Ione Henshall is a multi-disciplinary and perspective-shifting creative. Founder of Shadowed Earth (an ethical and inspirational studio focusing on print and conscious jewellery design), and an author and crafter of deeply moving written word.

“I didn’t realise it at the time, but I went in with a lack of confidence, a lack of clarity, and a lot of doubt about my work (and worth) as a creative. Elaine was the perfect mirror – through her I saw what I had to offer the world and what was holding me back from fully realising that. Elaine understood parts of me and my creations that I didn’t know were visible to the outside world, parts of me that weren’t always visible to me. She saw my vision without me ever having to explain or justify my reasonings, and offered such guidance to deepen and evolve my creative practice. It felt like Elaine gave me the permission to create without doubt, but what she actually gave me was the toolkit to grant myself that permission.

Creating in multiple disciplines, I’d struggled to see the connection between my crafts. Elaine showed me I am the connection – the pieces I am creating are the physical manifestations and extensions of myself. I am moving forward with such clarity and assurance. Unlocking these creative barriers has unlocked so much more in the rest of my life. It is an unfurling.

Elaine is at the heart of the creative world. Her shared considerations of ethos, ethics and aesthetics makes her a dream mentor for any creative being and endeavour. To have had Elaine as a mentor is a privilege. Her consultations are now a yearly necessity – it is the best investment in myself and my business I could make. To be around Elaine is to be inspired and fuelled with her incredible creative energy. I could not recommend her consultation and mentoring services enough.”

A slow-batch and hand-crafted pottery studio that encapsulates the warmth and soul of the Mediterranean. Jaye’s modern, magical, and naturally inspired vessels are dedicated to touch, presence, and everyday living – her signature Ritual cup echoing every one of these considered values.

“It has honestly been impossible to put into words how much I valued our time... I came to Elaine in the early development stages of my brand and her insight and understanding of my vision was considered and thoughtful. Her dedication to communicating the emotion, aesthetics and ethos of my brand authentically translated into an in-depth, tailored and strategic plan for my next steps. Alongside this she recommended a wealth of resources, research paths and potential contacts. Elaine has an incredible pool of knowledge as well as an inspiring and affirming presence; our meeting truly gave me new drive and clarity.”

“Working with Elaine has already exceeded my expectations. In our last session I remarked that she was a mind reader but after further thought I think she is in fact more like a snake charmer for the mind, coaxing to the surface desires for my business that feel so natural but that I wasn’t able to access on my own Elaine offers an exceptionally supportive, encouraging and safe space for me to explore ideas and new directions and while I can’t wait to see where the rest of our work takes me I am also thoroughly enjoying the journey.”
