Holding space here, for a while.
With great consideration, I have made the emotional, but truly positive, decision to place the business side of Studio 1850 on hiatus. As I fully open into my work as a counsellor, it’s become clear that chapters due to end have run on whilst new ones have started, and it’s made for a complicated read. A complicated life.
I am immensely proud of the studio’s ten years. Through this space, clients have been closely supported, firstly with graphic design, then later creative consultancy, which grew into a more psychological offering. Clients became friends, and I have sat and worked with them as their worlds and careers opened up.
Now, as this studio decade nears its end, I can see that it needs a period of rest. In the current digital and financial climate, a continued energy is needed and, for me, this is only possible if I passionately and ethically stand behind everything I share. Right now, I believe that both the studio and myself are looking for peace — a way to create and support without succumbing to the consistent and growing marketing needs of a coaching business… a landscape that I’m finding less and less aligned with my own ethics and beliefs.
Longterm, I’m staying open to what this means for 1850, but the idea of shared ownership or space… of open conversation and support… of joyful (non-commercial) creativity… feels right and true to me. Maybe we will see each other there when the time is right. Before then, for those of you looking to engage with Creative Consultancy (an offering I continue to adore working within), please know you can email me to discuss, or book using the link below.
For now, I am passionately continuing my counselling work with Clear and my private practice in the beautiful grounds of Scorrier House. If you’d like to, you can find out more here.
It’s with the largest of thanks, care and respect that I complete this chapter. The studio wouldn’t have become what it was able to without you (neither would I), and I truly hope there is continued shaping of us both to come.
With vast respect and continued presence,
Elaine
